Obama and the congressional black caucus

~The Congressional Black Caucus is an organization that represents the African American members of the United States Congress. The caucus membership is exclusive to African Americans. The Congressional Black Caucus started in 1969.13 Black Members of the U.S. House of Representatives got together to focus on their efforts to address the legislative concerns of Black and minority citizens.

~There are 13 african americans who ait on the black caucus. Parren Mitchell,Charles Rangel,Bill Clay Sr., Ron Dellums,George Collins,Louis Stokes,Ralph Metcalfe,John Conyers,Walter Fauntroy,Robert Nix Sr,Charles Diggs, Shirley Chisholm, and Gus Hawkins.

~The nature of president obama's meeting with the black caucus was that they wanted to get there issues across. The black caucus told Obama what they wanted to see happened. They explained the education that is being taught change. They meeting was really good.

~The black caucus would like him to adress educational issues also they wanted to adress health care, judicial nominations, civil rights, foreign policy and – naturally – jobs, taxes and the economy, participants said.

~I think that they would have a pretty good relationship because he is a african american. The relationship may be rocky because Obama is under a lot of stress with the economy, so they might not see progress right away.
